Collage Art
Rocky Mountain Collage
The newly formed Rocky Mountain Collage Society is having their first annual members' show August 18 - September 5th at Mesa State College's Johnson Gallery in Grand Junction. Gayle Gerson contacted me about the show and graciously met me in Denver this past weekend to pick up my work and personally transfer it to Grand Junction. I'm pleased to be involved in the inaugural show. At left is "Undercurrent," one of the two pieces that I submitted. It is 10 x 10 x 1", collage on wood panel.
Details
This is a detail from a 24 inch square, commissioned collage that I delivered last week. This portion of it reminds me of the drive I am taking down several boulevards to visit my Mom each day. There is a sort of tunnel of trees that is so refreshing to the eye. I have been bogged down in details lately it seems and I am anxious to get back to my collage work and to this blog on a more regular basis.
Website Introspection
I am finally reworking my website. Some of it will go up today, with more galleries to follow over the next week or so. What a project... It requires a lot of introspection and considerable patience! It has been valuable to reflect on my work, in the process of re-constructing the site, and where it has taken me over the last eight years. (This collage, coincidentally entitled "Introspection," is 10 x 8" and was done in 2000.)
